Saturday Activities
The Saturday trip departs from the city of Salta to San Antonio de los Cobres. Along the way, there will be a stop to visit the pre-Hispanic archaeological site of Tastil, whose ruins have been declared a National Historic Monument. After visiting the ruins, the journey continues to San Antonio de los Cobres to experience the Train to the Clouds, one of the most iconic tourist attractions in Argentina and a remarkable engineering achievement. The railway crosses the Andes Mountains and reaches more than 4,200 meters above sea level. Built in the early 20th century, it includes bridges, tunnels, and spiral tracks designed to overcome extreme terrain, showcasing the ingenuity of its engineers. The route passes through impressive landscapes, valleys, and viaducts, including the famous La Polvorilla Viaduct, offering breathtaking views and a unique cultural experience.
