Head of the Small Satellite Platform Unit, currently responsible for Small Satellite developments and projects within the Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality at the European Space Agency.
Stefano Santandrea , Graduated in Aerospace Engineering at the Polytechnic of Milan (Italy), over his 25 years at the Agency, Stefano has contributed, as system engineer, technical manager and project manager, to several innovative technologies’ in-orbit demonstration projects led by ESA, including the Proba satellites’ series, pioneering satellite onboard autonomy and system’s management automation, authoring and co-authoring several works on the topic.
In addition, Stefano is involved in the development of both newspace and operational application missions based on the utilisation of small satellite systems and platforms and is responsible for engineering and technical management of the platform’s development and overall system verification of the Agency’s Altius Earth limb sounding mission.
