Ilaria has dedicated 20 years to the field of space systems engineering. Since joining ESA in 2006, she has dedicated herself to embracing and promoting Concurrent Engineering and Design, serving as a driving force behind dozens of Concurrent Design Facility (CDF) studies.
She has contributed to revolutionize how complex systems are conceived by breaking down silos and leading international multidisciplinary teams.
Ilaria is also leading a team of pioneers in Digital and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) where she has consistently pushed the boundaries of the discipline. Her leadership in technology cross-cutting initiatives enhanced novel formats and applications of concurrent engineering integrating AI, AR, and sustainability-driven design into the fabric of systems engineering.
Holding a degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Sapienza University of Rome, she has played systems engineering roles in several ESA Projects within International Cooperations settings.
Beyond her technical mastery, Ilaria is a passionate advocate for the human element of space. She is a leading force behind global training and outreach, fuelled by the profound conviction that inspiring the next generation is the absolute key to the future of the space sector.
